Agtechs.Online Celebrates Groundbreaking Hydroponics Lighting Patent, Revolutionizing LED Technology
Aurora, NC – July 21, 2025 – Agtechs.Online proudly announces the publication of patent US12349638B2, titled “Apparatus and methods for a hydroponics system with light control,” by the United States Patent and Trademark Office on July 8, 2025. This milestone follows the earlier patent US11617316B2, published on April 4, 2023, for an innovative LED cooling system, reinforcing Agtechs.Online’s leadership in advancing hydroponic farming technology. Founder Jim Ray successfully defended these patents against 54 competing patents, showcasing the strength and originality of these innovations.
The newly patented Closed-Loop Feedback Lighting system (US12349638B2) transforms plant cultivation by dynamically adjusting the LED spectrum, from 285 nm ultraviolet to 760 nm far-red, to match each plant’s growth stage. This energy-efficient technology optimizes light delivery, maximizing plant health, yield, and quality, making it ideal for high-output commercial farms.
Complementing this, the LED Cooling System (US11617316B2) uses recirculating hydroponic solution to maintain optimal LED temperatures, enhancing light output, improving energy efficiency, and extending LED lifespan across single, double, or quadruple-layer configurations for cost-effective performance.
Jim Ray, who founded Agtechs.Online in 2017, also designed and manufactured systems for North Carolina’s first educational facility for Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) at Wayne Community College in Goldsboro, NC, in 2018.
